Technische Universität Berlin established a satellite campus in Egypt to act as a scientific and academic field office. The nonprofit public-private partnership (PPP) offers German services provided by TU Berlin at the campus in El Gouna, on the Red Sea. TU Berlin has established three new Master’s degree programs – in Energy Engineering, Urban Development, and Water Engineering – as pilot programs at the new campus. more to:

New Master's Degree Programs in Cooperation with DAAD
TU Berlin is currently in the process of initiating two new Master’s programs at Campus El Gouna in Business Engineering and IT for Energy. The project is financially supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The two new programs are scheduled to launch in October 2015, subject to official approval from German and Egyptian authorities. Any new information regarding the process will be provided here as soon as it is available.

News and Activities
Excursion to Hannover Messe 2016
Once again the Energy Engineering Department visited the largest industrial fair worldwide the Hannover Messe. On tuesday the 26th of April intake 2015 visited the fair only two days after President Obama and Chancellor Merkel. Particularly the energy halls were of great interest to the students, numerous large and small companies exhibited their most recent and innovative technology and development trends within the fields of decentralized energy generation, energy efficiency, energy storage, smart grids and mobility. Some students managed to get into contact with divers exhibitors discussing topics such as Internships and Master Thesis topics. Despite partially exploring the Hannover Messe by themselves, all students arrived back in Berlin safely but exhausted from the long and overwhelming day.
Successful PhD defense of Dr. Ahmed Hadidi
Campus El Gouna is proud to announce the graduation of the first PhD student with a pioneer research El Gouna area, fully prepared at the campus in Egypt. The geologist Ahmed Hadidi (MS.c.) started his research on the geology and hydrogeology of El Gouna by the first semester after the campus opening (WS 2012) with the supervision of Prof. Dr. Uwe Tröger. Mr. Hadidi succeeded to measure for the first time the real value of the flow of the flash flood of wadi Bili on March 2014 with our graduated master student Ahmed Askar.
Ecoglobe project at Campus El Gouna: “Waterbase” test plant
Funded by the Climate KIC Program the following project is a collaboration of TU Berlin Campus El Gouna and Ecoglobe GmbH. It comprises the construction of the decentralized wastewater system “Waterbase”. Furthermore checking the functioning of the whole plant and examining the efficiency by changing the dimensions of the filter and varying the wastewater load load.
Invitation to the 9th Community Forum on Mobility: 16 March
On 16 March 2016 the 9th Community Forum will take place in El Gouna at 4 p.m. The topic is 'Sustainable Mobility & Traffic Planning - Perspectives of El Gouna and Innovations by Egyptian Startups'. The main partner for this Community Forum is the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The organizational team is looking forward to welcoming you there.
Delegation at Cairo Climate Talks
21/22 February 2016, Cairo - An interdisciplinary team of two TU Berlin delegates was invited by the German Embassy to participate in the workshop prior to the 37th Cairo Climate Talks. The workshop took place in the Safir Hotel in Dokki, Cairo. Experts in the field of Energy Efficiency discussed Egypts challenges and opportunities in this field.
