This course demonstrates the basics of water- and sewage transportation. It covers the design and operation of fluid system elements like pumps, pipes, valves and basins, while, in particular, the operation of pumping systems with respect to the economic conditions is investigated.

This course deals with fluid mechanics, fluid flow in pipes, pump basics, pump types, affinity laws/numbers, cavitation, NPSH, operational characteristics, submersible pumps, water pumps, sewage pumps, performance test, technical diagnostic, life cycle cost, standards, seals, valves and basic design issues.
