TU Berlin Campus El Gouna celebrates new graduates Congratulations to Campus El Gouna’s Class 2015!       The Campus’ biggest hall, Audimax, was filled with proud relatives, friends, professors and teaching supervisors, who on Saturday February 6, attended the graduation ceremony of the TU Berlin Campus El Gouna's second Master's class.   This year, 24 talented young engineers received their Master’s certificate. The graduation event spanned two days. On the first day, graduates presented their Master’s theses to the public on the sideline of the "El Gouna Community Forum 2030". The Master’s thesis research of the graduates spanned a wide range of topics in the fields of Energy Engineering, Water Engineering and Urban Development.   The awarding ceremony on the following day began with a keynote address from Prof. Angela Ittel, Vice President for international relations. “The TU Berlin aims to provide the best education possible to its graduates. The talented young people here today show us that they are the best ambassadors for our scientific hub here in Egypt”, said Prof. Ittel.   In addition to representatives from the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, many other institutions including Orascom, DAAD, the German Embassy in Egypt and the supreme council of universities took the stage for congratulatory remarks.   Prof. Ashraf Hatem, General Secretary of the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities congratulated the students and praised the German educational system, in terms of the vocational training and technical education offered at German technical universities.   Additionally, at the awarding Ceremony, Urban Development Major Mohamed Ibrahim received the best thesis award for his research on why the majority of Egyptians would not consider moving to the new cities, aiding his research thesis with empirical analysis on residential location choice in Alexandria.   The ceremony also saw the formal announcement of the foundation of the first alumni club of Campus El Gouna. Vision and activities of the network were introduced by Prof. Dr. Rudolf Schäfer, founding director of TU Berlin Campus El Gouna.   Congratulatory video messages of members of teaching staff including Prof. Felix Ziegler, Dean of Faculty of Process Sciences at the TU Berlin, Prof. Tatiana Morozyuk, and Prof. George Tsatsaronis from the Energy Engineering Department closed up the event.
