Welcome to Campus El Gouna

TU Berlin Campus El Gouna was established to act as a scientific and academic field office of Technische Universität Berlin on the Red Sea in Egypt. Through its satellite Campus in El Gouna, TU Berlin offers five Master degree programs taking place between Eygpt and Germany.

With young researchers and postgrad students from more than 50 countries and English as an instruction language, TU Berlin Campus El Gouna is unique in its internationality. As a research hub it is linking TU Berlin's high profile academics with research institutions and other partners in the region. Students are actively involved in research projects and many conferences and workshops taking place on campus. Investing into a degree from TU Berlin Campus El Gouna means investing into a German Master's degree from one of Germany's leading universities.

Facing Egypt's Energy Transition Challenges Symposium (copy 1)

The German “Energiewende” has received enormous attention worldwide as the leading model for long-term structural change in energy systems towards the sustainability goals for climate change mitigation. In particular, in Egypt, the developments in the energy sector are key to economic growth, energy security and poverty reduction goals.

Acting as the German research hub in the region, the Technische Universität Berlin Campus El Gouna aims to critically address the “Energiewende” in the Egyptian context. The Symposium initiates a knowledge exchange between German, Egyptian and international experts from governmental institutions, industry and research.

Fresher's Day and Graduation 2019

On October 12, 2019 TU Berlin Campus El Gouna hosted its 5th Graduation and Semester Opening Ceremony.   Our warmest congratulations to the more than 70 master degree graduates of the year 2019! A very turbulent and enriching two years experience lies behind them.  We cannot wait to share the success stories of our fresh graduates and wish them all the best for their future! Apart from celebrating the farewell of graduates, TU Berlin Campus El Gouna welcomed 51 students from 16 different countries to a true intercultural and interdisciplinary academic experience.    

Water Engineering graduates at the Cairo Water Week (20-24 October 2019)

The Cairo Water Week 2019 (CWW) took place between October 20 and 24 in Cairo at Al-Manara International Conference Center and addressed the main theme “Responding to Water Scarcity”.

Three graduates of the Water Engineering master’s program participated to the CWW, whereby the Dean Prof. Tröger was a Keynote Speaker, reporting about flash floods in Egypt. 

In general, the congress was very rewarding and one student was interviewed by the Egyptian national TV, representing the graduates of TU Berlin.

German Language Course for all Junior-Students

On April 1st 2019 the German language course for our second-semester-students started successfully. For UD and WE students this course will be held during the whole Summer semester. On the other hand EE students complete a four-week intensive German Language course. Also, on April 1st, 46 Masters scholarships were awarded to our students at El Gouna. In addition to the German language course and these Masters scholarships Ms. Dr. Schneider has also successfully applied for new Sur-Plus scholarships at DAAD. Students starting their courses with us in October 2019 can apply for these scholarships and should do go via this application.

 

 

Participation to the Blue Planet Berlin Water Dialogues

The Water Department of TU Berlin Campus El Gouna participated at the Blue Planet Berlin Water Dialogues (http://blueplanetberlin.de/en/) on 9th of April 2019. The Kompentenzzentrum Wasser Berlin and German Water Partnership organized the conference. This dialogue brings together research and practice, to increase the cooperation of interdisciplinary teams. This year the AquaNES project funded by Horizon2020 demonstrates what can be achieved by working together. With renowned keynote speakers from different sectors, the conference offers a great platform to all participants for networking and widening their views.
