Exkursion to Hurghada Power Station
Samstag, 23. Januar 2016
On January 23rd, the students of the Master's program Energy Engineering at TU Berlin Campus El Gouna took the chance to visit the Hurghada Power Station.
When the Power Station was built, it was outside of town, but due to the expansion of the city the Power Station is now located in the middle of southern Hurghada. The visit itself started with a warm welcome and an introduction session with Eng. Abdelhameed Mahmoud, who gave us an interesting presentation about the Power Station and its essential components. We learnt that the steadily increasing hunger for electricity forced the government to an urgent plan to expand existing power plants where it is easily viable - like in Hurghada. Therefore the Hurghada Power Station is getting an extension at the moment.
